Support
How to reach a person, delete your account, back up your work, sort out billing and fix common problems. Swiftbird is built and supported by one person, so please be patient and be specific.
Contact support
Email hello@getswiftbird.com. A person reads every message.
To get a useful answer quickly, include:
- what you clicked, what you expected and what actually happened;
- the diagnostics from Settings → Help & about → Copy diagnostics. They list the app version, whether Claude Code, Codex and Blender were found and signed in, and your theme and layout. They leave out your email, tokens, file paths and conversations;
- whether trying again could repeat something that costs money, such as a generation request. If it could, don't retry; write first.
Please don't send passwords, API keys or provider tokens. Nobody at Swiftbird will ever ask for them. Look over screenshots and exported conversations before you attach them, because they may show private work.
Swiftbird cannot help with your Claude or OpenAI account, your provider subscription or its usage limits. Those belong to the provider. Swiftbird works with the CLI you have already installed and signed in to.
Delete your account
Your Swiftbird account is a sign-in identity. Deleting it is separate from deleting your work, because your work never left your computer.
What is deleted in the cloud. Your Swiftbird sign-in identity (your email address, user ID and sign-in method, held by our identity provider, Supabase) and, once paid plans launch, the minimal billing history linked to it. Some billing records may have to be kept for a limited period where tax or accounting law requires it; the privacy notice will say how long.
What is not touched. Your films, scripts, media, conversations, memories and settings stay on your machine. Deleting your account does not delete them, and nobody else can reach them to delete them. They remain until you delete the folders yourself.
How to ask. Self-service deletion isn't built yet. Until it is, email hello@getswiftbird.com from the address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my Swiftbird account". We'll confirm the request, delete the identity and tell you when it's done.
Before you ask:
- If you have a paid plan, cancel it in Payhip first (see Billing). Deleting your Swiftbird account does not cancel a Payhip subscription.
- Back up anything you want to keep (see Back up or export your work).
- To remove Swiftbird's local data as well, close the app and delete its data folder. Settings → Data & privacy shows where it is. Uninstalling the app keeps this folder on purpose, and signing out doesn't erase it.
Your AI provider keeps its own records of the conversations sent to it. Deleting your Swiftbird account doesn't delete those; use the provider's own account settings.
Back up or export your work
Everything you make with Swiftbird is ordinary files on your computer, so a backup is a copy of two folders.
- Your production folder. This holds the films themselves: scripts, beat sheets, Blender and Remotion sources, renders, audio, thumbnails and finals. Copy it the way you'd back up any project, with Swiftbird closed.
- Swiftbird's data folder. This holds conversations, drafts, preferences, memories and review records. Settings → Data & privacy shows its location.
For a smaller, checksummed record backup, use Settings → Data & privacy → Local backup & recovery. It exports your conversations, drafts, preferences and memories into one file. It doesn't include credentials or queued work, and it isn't a full film archive, so keep copying the production folder too. Treat the exported file as private: it contains your conversation text.
Keys you saved in Settings → Connections are encrypted for your Windows account and cannot be moved by copying files. On a new computer, paste them in again.
Films are never locked inside Swiftbird. Your existing work can be opened and exported on every plan, including Free, and your Blender, Remotion and Premiere files open in those tools without Swiftbird.
Billing, cancellation and refunds
Paid plans aren't on sale yet. When they launch, Plus ($5 a month) and Pro ($10 a month) will be sold as monthly memberships through Payhip, which processes card payments with Stripe. Swiftbird never sees or stores your card details.
- Use the same email for your Payhip purchase as for your Swiftbird account. That is how your plan finds you.
- Check your plan in the app with Settings → Subscription → Refresh membership, or on the account page.
- Cancel from your Payhip customer account; in the app, Settings → Subscription → Manage in Payhip takes you there. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your paid features continue until the end of the period you've paid for, then you're on Free. Your films and files are unaffected.
- Refunds follow the refund policy (draft). Write to hello@getswiftbird.com with the email you paid with and roughly when you paid.
- AI costs are separate. Your Claude or OpenAI subscription, and any paid services you connect yourself (for example voice or 3D generation), bill you directly. Swiftbird can't refund those.
If the app shows the wrong plan after a payment, press Refresh membership first. If it's still wrong, email us with the purchase email and the date; don't buy the plan a second time.
Troubleshooting
Swiftbird says Claude Code or Codex is "Not found" or "Sign-in needed". Swiftbird doesn't install or sign in to these for you. Install the CLI you want, sign in with its own login command in a terminal, then use Check connection in Swiftbird. More in Connect Claude Code or Codex.
A message seems stuck after you pressed Send. Don't send it again. Use Check send status; it reads the original request's receipt without sending it twice.
Membership shows Free after you paid. Use Settings → Subscription → Refresh membership, and check that Payhip and Swiftbird use the same email.
The app won't open, or says the address is "occupied by a different or older server". An older Swiftbird process is still running. Close Swiftbird, end the leftover process, and start it again.
A file shows as missing. Swiftbird shows files where your project says they are, and never moves them. If you moved or renamed a folder, put it back, or ask your agent in Chat to update the project's records.
Nothing here helps. The troubleshooting guide goes further. Otherwise contact support with your diagnostics.
