Terms of use
The rules for using the Swiftbird desktop app, this website and a Swiftbird membership. Written to be read.
Draft of 28 September 2026
Who these terms are with
These terms are an agreement between you and [BUSINESS NAME], of [COUNTRY] ("we", "us"), the maker of Swiftbird. By creating a Swiftbird account, installing the app or buying a membership, you accept them. Contact: hello@getswiftbird.com.
What Swiftbird is
Swiftbird is a Windows desktop app that brings a YouTube documentary workflow onto one desk. It gives you one Chat that drives an AI coding agent you have installed yourself (Claude Code or Codex), and pages that show your films' real files: production rows, stills, the scene editor, thumbnails, calendar and publishing.
Please understand what it is not:
- It is not an AI service. Swiftbird doesn't include or resell any AI model. You need your own provider account and subscription, which the provider bills separately under its own terms.
- It doesn't render your film. Final picture comes from your own tools, such as Blender, Remotion and Adobe Premiere Pro.
- It doesn't publish for you on its own. Publishing prepares an upload and shows you exactly what would be sent. Nothing is uploaded to YouTube without your explicit review and action.
- It is new. Swiftbird is in active development. Features can change, and some are marked in the app or the changelog as not yet verified.
Your account
Every plan, including Free, needs a Swiftbird account. Give a real email address you control and keep your sign-in secure. One account is for one person. You're responsible for what happens under your account and on your computer, including the actions of the AI agent you connect and the permissions you give it.
Plans, payment and renewal
Swiftbird has three plans: Free ($0), Plus ($5 a month) and Pro ($10 a month), as described on the pricing page. Plus and Pro are monthly memberships sold through Payhip, which processes card payments with Stripe.
- Memberships renew every month until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; paid features stay on until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account moves to Free.
- Use the same email at checkout as for your Swiftbird account, so your plan can be matched to you.
- Prices include or exclude tax as shown at checkout. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of a price change, and it applies from your next renewal.
- Refunds are covered by the refund policy. A refunded payment ends the paid period it covered.
- Moving to Free never locks your work: existing work can always be opened and exported.
Your work and your content
Your films, scripts, media and other files are yours. They stay on your computer, and we claim no rights over them. You're responsible for having the rights to what you use and publish, including footage, music, fonts, 3D assets, likenesses and research sources, and for following YouTube's and your providers' rules.
AI agents can make mistakes, including factual errors and unintended file changes. Review what they produce, keep backups of your production folder, and don't rely on an agent's claim that something is approved, correct or cleared.
Acceptable use
Don't use Swiftbird to break the law or anyone's rights, to attack or overload our services, to share your account, to get around plan limits or licence checks, or to resell Swiftbird without our written agreement. Don't try to reverse-engineer the membership service.
Third-party tools
Swiftbird works alongside software and services that belong to other companies, including Anthropic (Claude Code), OpenAI (Codex), the Blender Foundation, Remotion, Adobe, Google (YouTube and Google sign-in), Payhip, Stripe and Supabase. Your use of them is governed by their terms. Swiftbird is independent and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by them. We aren't responsible for their availability, pricing or changes, which can affect what Swiftbird can do.
Updates and availability
We may update, change or stop features. We'll try to give reasonable notice before removing something paid plans rely on. Swiftbird works on your local files, but it needs an internet connection to check your sign-in and membership. If it can't check them, the app locks until you reconnect; your files are never affected.
Warranty and liability
Swiftbird is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free or fit for a particular purpose. We aren't liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to [LIABILITY CAP: the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim]. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Swiftbird at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after a warning where reasonable. Your local files are never affected by account closure.
Changes to these terms
We'll post changes here with a new date and email account holders about significant ones before they take effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel before it applies.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of [COUNTRY]. [COURTS: disputes go to the courts of [COUNTRY], without taking away a consumer's right to sue where they live.]
